In October I had the great privilege of conducting Choral Arts, the distinguished professional chamber choir based in Seattle. The repertoire for these concerts took me out of the usual Baroque Era music that has been my bread and butter these past couple of years. Instead of Schuetz, Bach, Handel, and Buxtehude, I conducted the choir in music by Howells, Vaughan Williams, Holst, Gibbons, and Byrd. This a cappella program was one of the most satisfying musical experiences I have had this year.
